From Childish Ways to Adult Ways.

How does one start to even reflect on one's choices that have been made but sit back and reflect. When I look back on my worldly time, I am reminded of “1 Corinthians 13:11”. This beautiful verse goes as, “When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I thought as a child, I reasoned as a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways.” Yes, I gave up my childish ways, but there are times when we must reach back and as the past illuminates the present. Those childish ways are never to be forgotten and are needed for certain essentials to our present days.

For me I sit for long periods of time alone or with my loved ones to remind me of past and present. The time I have with these beautiful souls are the utmost precious of times. I thank our Father Almighty for these times that i have learned to appreciate because a lot of rake these times for granted. God is beautiful and is present at every moment of my journey and always with us. Present and guiding us at every cornerstone. He has been there since we were children, present as toddlers, present in our teenage years.

When we come to that crossroad of life and make the decision to continue to be childish or grow and become the adults that he sees we can be. Adults that are easily tempted by sin by bad ugly choices. Yet God is always present and always forgiving of our wrong doings. So, in small words we really need to put away childish ambitions and become Godly responsible adults.

I can also describe the nature and importance of love. That implies that one should mature in love and understanding and cannot be limited by partial Knowledge and prophecy. Become a man or woman, put away childish things.

(1 Corinthians 13:8) says and will tie it all in say, “where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.”

There were yet many points yet point to the future when these gifts – prophecy, tongues, and supernatural knowledge – these three gifts involve future revelation yet will disappear.

(1 Corinthians 13:10) “When the perfect comes, the partial will pass away”. Means that when anything which is perfect is seen or enjoyed, then that which is imperfect is forgotten, laid aside, or vanishes. What we know about God and what He will do in the world is relatively limited.

Completeness==maturity!!!!!

Have in mind the complete revelation of Gods beautiful words.

Perfection or completeness????

“Write antithetical statements” - completeness would be the translation.

Transformation – maturity!!!!!

The completion of Gods’ plan for His beautiful children.

: when the complete comes, the partial will disappear

One reason God gives spiritual gifts to believers now is for us to build each other up. God the father raises us to maturity so that we can participate in his work whether you have given up your personal interest of God.

: immaturity of childhood to the partial gifts of the Spirit.

The kind of love Jesus calls us to show for God and for our neighbor, even our enemies, is very special and comes from the Father. It's the love that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit share for one another. He is the love that God sets upon us, not because of our goodness, but because (He is) of His.

The ways of manhood/ womanhood will be known fully.  This will happen when Christ returns, but in the meantime “LOVE NEVER FAILS”.

#childrenship:

Jesus generally points to children as an example of the kind of faith, love, and trust for the Father, that He wants us to see in His disciples.

#talked, thought, and responded as a child:

Jesus had a way of thinking about children, that their talk, thoughts, and reasoning would be something to imitate. I'm talking about the immaturity of an innocent child.

#puting the ways of childhood behind:

-must grow into adulthood and adopt responsibilities

-should put “childish” ways behind us, keep in mind Jesus called it “childlike faith”. The point is that partial spiritual reality is made dim by living in the midst of a fallen world in an age still ruled by the enemy (Satan). This will be put behind us when the world reaches maturity. That will come with the return of Christ, and the judgment of evil and imperfection.

The one perfect concept of love. It is the single greatest of the three constants, faith, hope, and Love because it will remain in constant long after faith and hope are no longer necessary.

“The Perfect “, comes meaning Christ, He will reveal all things to us. Our knowledge about God and His ways is partial. Then, when we’re with Him in eternity, we will know fully (John 3:12).

God gives spiritual gifts to believers now is for us to build each other up. Those abilities are meant to “grow up” the church (Ephesians 4:11-12). He gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of minister, for building up the body of Christ.

That shows the church will mature to the point that we reach the “fullness of Christ”. It will only happen after He arrives. It is the course we’re currently on. The gifts are needed to keep the process going until He comes, then they will be needed no longer.

Refer to yourself as a child, who has lived in childish ways, and then as an adult who puts away those childish understandings of the world when he became a man. Same will happen for believers when Christ returns. Our partial understanding about God will become full, mature “knowing”.

Overall “1 Corinthians 13 is best understood as a way of life, lived in imitation of Jesus Christ that is focused not on oneself but on the “other” and his or her good. Love is about action, how a person lives for the Lord and obeys Him and how a person lives for others and serves them.
